Fighting the Sunday Scaries

The Sunday Scaries. We all know what it is, and we have all experienced it at SOME point. I don’t care who you are, what you do, or how much you love your job, there has to have been at least ONE Sunday you have gotten nervous, or just simply thought, I don’t want to work tomorrow…

I love my job and I own my own business, with no one to report to, and I still get this every so often.

The Babymoon

This past weekend we went to Maine for our “babymoon”.For the expecting mamas out there, I would highly recommend doing a little weekend getaway with your husband before that beautiful babe arrives. We kept it short, simple, relaxing, and beautiful, and it was exactly what my heart and soul needed.

September Meal of the Month

This is one of my most FAVORITE meals to make for the Fall.  I gotta be honest, I am not a huge “soup” person, but I will ALWAYS pick this if it’s on the menu at a restaurant and we make it at home all of the time.  It’s warm, filling, a little sweet, and a lot of delicious.

It is also dairy-free, so that’s a win/win =]

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Learn Something New

When the seasons change, the bathing-suits get packed away, and the kids head back to school it always brings me back to that “new school year feeling”.

When I was in school, I would always get so excited to wear a new outfit on the first day, see my friends again, and secretly, I always got giddy excited about learning something new.  I loved the smell of new parchment paper and the must of an old textbook that you would get to write your name in because you “owned it” from 2008-2009.  (I don’t even know if they still use these anymore.. But still! It was the best.)

There was something magical about a new beginning and the unknown.

What I am looking forward to this Fall

One thing I absolutely LOVE about living in New England is that the season’s change.

This summer was weird, probably for most of us. Even though I love the summertime with my whole heart and soul, my sister and I kept saying that we felt like this Fall would be a turning point. Let’s just say we were looking forward to this year’s change of seasons.

Mother’s Intuition?

It’s a… Mother’s Intuition?

If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen the announcement that Dan and I are expecting a baby boy come February of 2021! I’m not exactly sure of the due date because I keep forgetting to ask. =]

The Whirlwind of july

About two weeks ago was the last time I tried to sit down and write a blog and to finish the July Newsletter.  I only had to write the featured blog and go through some final edits, which shouldn’t take me too long.  But when I sat in front of my computer, trying to get myself into the right mindset, I just couldn’t do it.

July Recipe of the month

Baked Cod, Sautéed Spinach, and Angel Hair Pasta

With a Side Heirloom Tomato Salad

I recently made this meal for a couple of friends who came over to see the house and our pup.  I will toot my own horn here and say that it was pretty much the best meal I have made this summer.  Hands down.  It was light, fresh, and delicious, so obviously I had to share it with you today.

Buying a House and Recruiting

So guys… big announcement here… WE BOUGHT A HOUSE! =D

Like I have a mortgage, house insurance, and we have to buy a lawnmower!! What is life?!

We are so freaking excited and weirded out at the same time that we are officially real adults and homeowners. After 4 years of being in an apartment together, we are ready to have a little bit more of our own space to spread out. I can’t wait to insta story it for you guys once we officially close and move in!

I wanted to share with you this journey just so you could see how similar buying a house is to searching for the perfect candidate for a job. (You will also start to notice how this theme can be applied to many other areas of your life).

Dealing with disappointment

This title sounds like a really low vibration, almost negative theme, for my peppy happy self, but I am not always happy and peppy, and this is a topic I recently experienced so I thought I would share it with you today. =]

When I was a kid, the worst thing my mom could have said to me was “ I’m just disappointed”. Cue eyes filling with tears and a knife to the chest. It was the absolute WORST and it would wreck me every time. To this day, it’s the worst form of being reprimanded.

But I don’t think I really understood what disappointment was or felt like until I was older.
