Summer is my favorite out of the beautiful seasons here in New England. I mean, what is there not to love about SUMMER?  Beach days, the warm sun on your face, hot dogs, ice cream, vacations, tans, shorts, flip flops…  It’s the happiest time of the year, and for many, it’s also one of the busiest times. Since we live in New England, we only get about 3.5 months, if that, of beautiful warm weather. So we try to cram in as many outdoor activities as possible: ball games, BBQs, weekend getaways to the beach, vineyard visits, boat cruises, mini-golfing, or just taking a run or walk outside.

I am a huge proponent of work-life balance. I think we need enough play to keep us motivated to work. (Maybe that’s the millennial in me!) … Therefore, every summer my mom and I make a “Summer Bucket List” of things we want to do.

This year my bucket list consists of:

  • Going paddle boarding,
  • Get to the beach as much as possible,
  • Reading 1-3 “fun” books – aka not self-help,
  • Get together with friends for dinner,
  • Go to a Dave Matthews concert
  • Try yoga on the beach
  • And, walk outside every weekend.

[One minor detail that is NOT listed on my bucket list: I am planning my wedding, which is happening at the end of the summer!! Sooo yeah- it’s been a little extra crazy for me this year!]

What’s nice about making a bucket list is that it is kind of like a mini-goal list. It’s also is a nice way to make sure you make the most of your summer months so that you don’t let the time pass you by without doing something different and fun for you to remember during the colder months to come.

So, here we are, a little over a month left of summer… I have gotten through about half of my bucket list so far. But it’s not too late for you to start! Write down a couple things that are fun and different, get planning and get out there and enjoy this amazing time of year!

[Please feel free to share your summer bucket list in the comments below or on my social media!]
