As I have mentioned in the past, I am a complete self-help junkie. A nut. OBSESSED with it. I love the concept of shaping and creating my own reality, and having the unlimited potential to achieve whatever it is I want.

So, I am sure you are familiar with the “Beyoncé” of the self-help world, Tony Robbins. He has been a leader in this space for over 30 years, teaching people all around the world how to become the best version of themselves. He has tons of YouTube videos, books and seminars teaching about his strategies and his overall life approach.

What differentiates him from some of the other programs and “gurus”, in my opinion, are his AUTHENTICITY, REPEATABLE PROCESS, and ENERGY. You know the feeling when you meet someone for the first time and they have such a positive aura, so happy and full of life? Not afraid to laugh at themselves or be corny, and are so comfortable in their own skin? … Those types of people are contagious to have around– you can’t help smile, laugh or let loose. And they always leave you wanting more. That’s how I have always felt about Tony Robbins, except, I had never MET him. (Technically, I still haven’t, BUT I WAS RECENTLY IN THE SAME BUILDING AS HIM AND SAW HIM WITH MY OWN EYES, IN THE FLESH!!! So that counts for me.)  But because of that feeling, it had been on my ‘life goals list’ since college to attend one of his seminars and see the master at work.

Then one day this past April, while at a different seminar, I met a fellow “Tony” fan who had actually volunteered at over 15 of his events … 15!! I was so jazzed up to be talking with him about it. Then he asked me “why haven’t you gone yet?” I told him it was expensive and I was waiting until I hit a certain revenue goal to buy the ticket, as a reward. He stopped me in my tracks and said “It will never be the ‘right’ time to go, and you can always find reasons not to. You need to just bite the bullet and DO IT.”  That slap of reality was all it took for me to buy my tickets the next week, and I am so happy I did!

Going to that seminar was like nothing I have ever experienced. I danced, I jumped, I screamed, I laughed, I cried, and I left feeling that I was unstoppable. I even told my mom that it was better than most vacations I’ve ever been on (sorry, mom!).

  • Overall, he teaches you that you have CONTROL. You have the control to change your life, and live out every dream you have desired. You just have to decide, and then GO FOR IT.
  • He helps you realize that you are enough, and capable of so much more than you believe.
  • And most importantly: he teaches you to love yourself, and to love others.

Giving love and helping others grow makes us better humans. Imagine a world where everyone talked kindly to one other, and were constantly trying to lift each other up rather than tear each other down?  It sounds like a pretty beautiful place to me, and want to do everything I can to make my world that way. I encourage you to do the same!

My dad has always said that there is no better investment than the one to better yourself as a person. Attending Tony Robbins’ seminar was my little investment to help make me a better person, friend, employee, and entrepreneur. I know I will kick ass because of it, and am so excited to see what is to come as a result!

Millennial, Gen X, Baby Boomer, Gen Z…we are all the same: we want to be and feel loved. Whether that’s through giving back, building your own business, or being a great teammate or manager – there are always opportunities for us to give and receive love… that’s what Tony told me.
